Abstract
The paper examines the urban transport systems of cities with millions of inhabitants (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Ufa, Krasnoyarsk, Voronezh, Perm, Omsk, Volgograd) of the Russian Federation, examines the transport equipment of cities, as well as the transport mobility of the population. The transport system of Volgograd is considered, the route network of the city is investigated, and the existing route network of public passenger transport of the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd is analyzed in detail. Measures are proposed to improve the transport service of passengers of urban public transport using ground electric transport, namely the introduction of a single passenger ticket, with the help of which it is possible to operate a “seamless” system of transfers in Volgograd.
