ECOLOGICAL SAFETY MONITORING OF THE URBAN HABITAT (CASE OF URBAN LOCALITY OF SREDNYAYA AKHTUBA)
Abstract
Ensuring the ecological safety of the urban habitat is carried out from the position of pollution monitoring. The purpose of the study was to assess air pollution in the residential area of urban locality of Srednyaya Akhtuba (Volgograd region) in comparison with the conditionally clean area using aerosol indicators: the number of particles ( N PM10, %) and their mass fraction ( D ( d PM10), %). Based on the results obtained, an excess of the values for the mass fraction of particles (PM10) by 10.76 times and insignificant differences in their number (by 1.3 times) in comparison with the conditionally clean zone were revealed. In this connection, metallic impurities are predicted in the aerosols of the residential area of Srednyaya Akhtuba. This may indicate environmental risks for the living population and the need to develop environmental measures for them.
