THE SPECIFICS OF SPATIAL PLANNING ORGANIZATION OF MULTI-LEVEL PUBLIC SPACES IN THE STRUCTURE OF A MODERN CITY

The prerequisites for the emergence of multi-level public spaces, the main features of their inclusion in the planning structure of the city are considered, urban planning, spatial planning, social, economic, landscape and environmental factors contributing to the emergence and development of multi-level public spaces in the modern urban environment are identified. Taking into account the analysis of world design experience, the typology of these urban areas is given based on the functional content, composition and interrelation of their structural elements and the features of their location relative to the earth's surface. The studied types include spaces in the structure of large transport hubs, multi-level spaces associated with public buildings and complexes, multi-level parks, multi-level transport and pedestrian squares. Based on the analysis of the organization of multi-level public spaces, the characteristic features of their successful functioning are determined: accessibility, optimal filling of space as a hub of concentration of social activity, differentiation of types of use by levels and nature of activity, ensuring urban planning flexibility and continuity, the use of green technologies. The project proposals for the formation of a multi-level public space for the conditions of Volgograd on the example of projects for the reconstruction of the Forecourt, providing for the improvement of functional zoning, transport and pedestrian traffic and the use of landscape design tools.
