Artificial intelligence is actively penetrating the urban planning industry, offering new opportunities to optimize processes and increase efficiency. Machine learning, computer vision, and big data analysis technologies make it possible to automate design, optimize urban planning process management, increase safety, and reduce costs at all stages of an object's life cycle - from design to operation. However, the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence faces challenges, such as the need for standardization, significant investments, and cybersecurity. The article examines the advantages and disadvantages of using a probabilistic and deterministic approach to artificial intelligence for the tasks of building and shaping the architectural appearance of urban infrastructure facilities. An example of the development of a knowledge base of an automated information system for the layout of cladding materials on the facades of urban buildings is given.
