Abstract

A smart city should ensure the comfort, convenience and safety of citizens. One of the main directions of smart city development is transport infrastructure. In the field of urban transport infrastructure research, a trend towards the introduction of smart electric transportation has emerged in recent years. However, in addition to a number of advantages, such an implementation also carries a number of challenges for the urban environment. The purpose of the work is to determine the pace of development of electric transport in Russia and the world, identify trends and forecast based on existing statistics. The article analyzes the existing problems of introducing smart electric transport into urban infrastructure, as well as the development of electric transport in a smart city. The growth of the number of electric vehicles in Russia has been predicted based on growth statistics over the past 5 years. Based on the forecast, the share of the presence of electric vehicles (ETS) by 2030 is approximately estimated. Currently, ETS make up no more than 0.1% of the total number of vehicles on Russian roads, however, while maintaining the upward trend in demand for them that has developed over the past 5 years, ETS will begin to displace vehicles with other types of engines by 2030. In this regard, measures to solve the problems of introducing ETS into the city's transport infrastructure must be taken in advance.
