Environmental safety of the urban environment is ensured through pollution monitoring. The objective of the study was to assess air pollution in the residential area of the urban settlement of Srednyaya Akhtuba (Sredneakhtubinsky District, Volgograd Region) compared to a relatively clean zone using aerosol parameters: particle count (N PM10, %) and mass fraction (D (d PM10, %). The obtained results revealed a 10.76-fold excess of the mass fraction of particles (PM10) and minor differences in their quantity (1.3-fold) compared to the relatively clean zone. Therefore, metallic impurities are predicted in aerosols in the residential area of Srednyaya Akhtuba. This may indicate environmental risks for the local population and the need to develop targeted environmental measures.
