Abstract

This article presents an analysis of several aspects of the current situation in five parks in St. Petersburg, drawing on the authors' introduction of the concepts of "district park" and "district park attractiveness index." The study focuses on the Sosnovaya Polyana, Novoznamenka, Yuzhno-Primorsky, and Polezhaevsky parks, located in the Krasnoselsky District of the city, and Aleksandrino, part of the Kirovsky District. The subject of the study is the existing parameters of park improvement elements. The goal of the study is to rank the parks in the preparation of scientifically substantiated information for conducting a management analysis of urban development activities related to providing residents with district parks and making decisions on their improvement. Office and in-kind studies included collecting initial data, verifying and supplementing it, surveying experts, and mathematically processing the results. An expert assessment method was used to distribute points and calculate indicator weights, determine the weights of indicator groups, and compare the study objects. Since assigning weights to various indicators is debatable, several options were considered. The authors, without denying the importance of the parameters for the development and improvement of urban natural areas, believe that the leading indicators of the attractiveness of the parks under consideration are their geometry and the composition of green spaces.
