Abstract

This article examines the analysis and refinement of environmental risk theory associated with air pollution from the construction industry and provides an overview of international and Russian research in this area. Publications on assessing environmental risks in construction and measures to mitigate them are analyzed; groups of factors influencing environmental risk associated with air pollution from construction emissions are examined, including the volume and composition of emissions, meteorological conditions, geographical and climatic features of the area, and the technical condition and state of the art of equipment; methods and models of mathematical apparatus and environmental safety monitoring; and improvements to legislation and regulations. Promising areas for the development of environmental risk theory in the construction industry have been identified: the development and application of more accurate and reliable models for environmental risk assessment, research into the effectiveness of methods for reducing pollutant emissions, the use of innovative construction technologies and the production of materials with low harmful substance content, the creation of standards and regulations to limit emissions, the implementation of environmental auditing and management, the use of geographic information systems with the ability to develop digital maps, and the modernization of the legislative framework—all of this against the backdrop of a deepening scientific theory of risk.
